Ethosomal gel: a novel choice for topical delivery of the antipsychotic drug Ziprasidone Hydrochloride

Oral delivery of antipsychotic drugs like Ziprasidone HCl has a disadvantage gastric disturbance and lack adherence to the treatment. In present study, loaded ethosomal gel was formulated avoid disadvantages oral delivery. The ethosomes were prepared using Lipoid S 75 with Isopropyl alcohol Propylene glycol as solvents. evaluated for different parameters particle size, poly dispersibility index entrapment efficiency. Based on diffusion studies, optimized formulation incorporated in carbopol 934 base. final dosage form physical characteristics, drug content proceeded ex- vivo skin permeation studies. maximum percentage permeated after 24 hours found be 93.30±0.168. flux 52.05± 0.564µg/hr/cm2.
